FAQs

  • In addition to seeing each child as unique and capable, we empower your child to be their best and build on their strengths. We communicate with your child's care team, including teachers, special education providers, coaches, and doctors, to ensure streamlined and efficient care. This holistic approach is often missing in traditional healthcare.

  • Our services are out of network for most commercial insurances and families are responsible for payment at the time of service. We provide documentation for families to submit for out-of-network reimbursement.

The reason for this strategic decision is that it allows us to fully customize your child’s plan of care and interventions to meet his or her needs and these interventions can change as your child grows. Most commercial insurance carriers have strict guidelines for the types of support that they will pay for and exclude parent coaching, consultations and support with teachers, coaches and other members of your child’s team and most types of peer and group support.

  • Call your insurance company to inquire about out-of-network benefits for occupational therapy. We provide a monthly superbill and session notes for submission. Reimbursement success depends on your insurance carrier.

  • A prescription or referral is not required but recommended for better communication with your child's healthcare provider and for insurance reimbursement. If you would like to submit for reimbursement from your insurance provider, a prescription for occupational therapy is required.

  • OT can take place in our office in West Chester, PA, in your West Chester home, or if approved by your child's school, at school (of note: school services are usually only available in the private school setting). A combination of these locations may be helpful for your child and options can be discussed with your OT provider at the time of your evaluation.

  • Our office is located in the heart of the West Chester Borough. This allows us to use not only our office space for treatment, but nearby playgrounds and businesses as well. The address for GPS navigation is 312 W. Union Street, West Chester PA. The building is called The Third Place, and is rented in collaboration with other businesses from Iron Works Church of West Chester.

  • If your child has been evaluated by the Intermediate Unit (in PA), Early Intervention, or another occupational therapy provider within the last 6 months, you do not need to schedule a new occupational therapy evaluation. The existing goals can be used in order to make a seamless transition in care for your child. If the evaluation conducted from your child is more than 6 months old, a new evaluation is required.
